After installing the Desktop Experience on Windows,
message flow ceases and BlackBerry smartphone users fail to start. The Desktop
Experience on Windows is required to install Windows Media Player, which is
needed for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to play back .
The Desktop Experience on Windows installs Windows Mail on
the server. This overwrites the pre-existing Messaging Application Programming
Interface (MAPI) subsystem with a different version that is not compatible with
the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. This version of MAPI causes a communication
error between the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the Microsoft? Exchange
Server? and BlackBerry smartphone users fail to start.
